Porcinnova

PORCINNOVA is the High Technology Incubator for companies in the pig sector, which is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. It is a one-of-its-kind project in Spain with a national and international outlook.

It is a realistic project which is conceived to generate innovative technological solutions that can be applied to the constantly growing pig industry.

PORCINNOVA is the gateway to the market and a real immersion into the sector, which is capable of anticipating industrial demands and consumer and business trends through new technological developments.

It is promoted by the Centro de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentaria de Aragón (CITA; Agrifood Research and Technology Centre of Aragon) and the Fundación de Innovación y Transferencia Agroalimentaria de Aragón (FITA; Foundation for Innovation and Agri-Food Transfer of Aragon), with the support of the Regional Government of Aragón through the Department of Innovation, Research and Universities —to which the two promoting entities are affiliated— and the Department of Rural Development and Sustainability.

PORCINNOVA is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the INCYDE Foundation (Instituto Cameral para la Creación y Desarrollo de la Empresa; Chamber Institute for the Creation and Development of Companies) within the Multiregional Operating Programme (OP) for Spain ERDF 2014-20: “Una manera de hacer Europa” (A way of making Europe)

PORCINNOVA brings together everything necessary for the promotion of innovation, competitiveness, technology transfer and the contribution to new entrepreneurial projects in this business sector.

The huge support offered by the main companies is what allows the work being carried out between incubated or accelerated projects and consolidated companies to become a reality. This will generate real business ideas and opportunities for both parties.

PORCINNOVA was born to contribute to and expand the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation. It is a platform that will provide a continuous flow of knowledge under the best possible conditions.

Incubation and acceleration mechanisms are only effective if they involve the major economic players in the sector, as in this case. It is therefore ensured that the project will always work in close collaboration with large companies in the sector to generate new business opportunities.

All of this is done with a view to creating highly valuable companies.
